Description: PRICE ON REQUEST Head portion of a Roman period funerary sarcophagus depicting a male with a full beard, thick eyebrows and short hair combed into a fringe on the forehead. Orangish-flesh ground with black and white details. Areas of interior deposits. Normal edge losses, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A beautiful example. Provenance: Private NYS collection, ex. Sothebys, London, Darius Sale, lot 74, Dec. 12th, 1988.
