Description:A rare Chavin stone / jade Lemon Carro drug mortero. This was most likely used for the storage of hallucinogenics. The great and deeply carved jaguar is very detailed showing great facial features and the entire body and tail. Red cinnabar still remains in the carved portions. A very rare and great piece.

Provenance: We are pleased to offer for your consideration this great collection of pre-Columbian Hallucinogenic paraphernalia. This collection was once displayed at The National Museum of Demark. Many of the pieces are published in “Chavin Spirits, Shaman and Hallucinogenics” “Ancient Art from South America” and also published in a large inventory book put out by the Denmark Museum. The entire collection was also with the Denver Art Museum for over two years, world class provenance.
