Ca. 1125 AD - 1300 AD
Description: A large Hohokam olla dating from the Soho Phase south of Phoenix. This is a very well painted olla in as found condition. Interestingly about this ollas there was a nickel size hole knocked in the bottom by the ancient Indians who then used tree pitch to fill it. This repair is still present. The olla has never been broken apart and remains in found condition. Diagonal bands over lap floating elements, a great piece of the difficult Hohokam pottery type. Legally purchased from a private collection, legal release and disclosure accompanies the piece.
Condition: As found, stable crack at bottom that has never separated, olla is whole.
