Ca. 800 AD – 1200 AD
Description: A very rare Hohokam carved animal bone. The joint has been carved to represent two parrots sitting on a perch. Each bird has a curved beak, wings drawn back with detailed feathers. The hair pin has great and deeply carved geometric designs going down the shaft. Truly a one of a kind and the finest I have seen. This hair pin is a part of a large collection of pre-Historic jewelry acquired from a very well documented collection. Legally purchased from a private collection.
Condition: Tip of pin is restored. Glue injected into some natural cracks to stabilize the piece.
Dimension: Length: 8.0 inches
